ALTOONA, Pa. — Books by two Penn State Altoona English faculty have been named finalists for the Foreword Reviews INDIES Book of the Year Awards.

“Native Species,” a poetry collection by Todd Davis, professor of English and environmental studies, has been named a finalist in the poetry category. The collection was published by Michigan State University Press in 2019 and was recently named the winner of the inaugural 2020 Bloomsburg University Book Prize.

An anthology co-edited by Erin Murphy, professor of English, has been named a finalist in the anthology category. “Bodies of Truth: Personal Narratives on Illness, Disability, and Medicine,” was published by the University of Nebraska Press in 2019. Murphy edited the book with Dinty W. Moore and Renée K. Nicholson.
