Scholar Spotlight: DJ Lee

Congratulations to DJ Lee for submitting her book, Remote: Fifteen Years Through the Wilderness, to Oregon State University Press for print last week. DJ and her new book were chosen by the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) for the “7 Coming-Up Author Showcase”. The 7 Coming-Up event will be held Oct. 6-8, 2019 during the PNBA annual convention. This gives DJ an opportunity to build excitement for her new book in front of librarians, publishers, and sales reps from across the country. The book details her experiences in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness of Idaho and Montana.

DJ also ran a two-part panel at the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment (ASLE) in June of 2019. Titled “Arctic Art and Climate Change I and II”, the work of four artist and three scholars were featured to consider how art can provide a site of experimentation for living in a damaged world.
