“We Feed More Than Hungry Bellies: Creating Community Together at Jubilee Café” About Place Journal’s New Issue

Rev. Leah Robberts-Mosser, a pastor for the Community United Church of Christ, highlights the work they do at the Jubilee Café in this new issue of About Place Journal. 

It is easy to forget in today’s news cycle that the right-wing Christian nationalists who bully minority groups or demonize refugees live a life about as far from the main tenets of Christ as one could.

At 2024’s end, Jubilee has served over 25,000 meals (pictured below). But more importantly, they have established an ethic of care and compassion. Simple things, like changing a carpet, can become a transformative act of the collaborative spirit.
