On August 28th, Seamus Cashman will do a three hour open air public reading in St Stephen’s Green in central Dublin from 1.30-4.30pm, of poetry and prose works by writers and others represented by memorial busts or with other connections to Stephen’s Green, including Yeats, Joyce, Thomas Kettle, Rabindranath Tagore, Patrick Pearse, James Clarence Mangan, Robert Emmett, Countess Markievicz (who toured America in 1922 raising funds for the Irish Republican cause, and commanded the rebels in the Stephen’s Green area) , Maud Gonne Macbride, and others.
