Kickstarter for BEI fellow Gerald Coleman Project

Here is the Kickstarter for BEI fellow Gerald Coleman to help publish his latest collection of poems & essays entitled “Incendiary.”
Here is a bit more about the project in his own words:
“This kickstarter is being launched to publish my latest collection of poems & essays entitled, “Incendiary.” Here’s an excerpt from the introduction: “This compendium—a collection of concise but detailed information —of poems and essays, comes out of my historical approach to these collections. I write from my personal experience, in conversation with my participation as a black person from a broader community, aimed at a philosophical affirmation—we are human beings and our lives matter.”
This collection was initially about the idea of the “Black Fantastic” and why I preferred it over the term Afrofuturism. It was going to contain poems, essays, and short stories in conversation about that topic. And then the election happened in November. All I felt was rage and disgust. I did what I normally do, and turned to art as a way to channel that energy. And that’s where, “Incendiary,” came from. It’s a conversation about, and a response to, where we are right now, from the perspective of a black poet. I hope you’ll find it an interesting enough idea to support!
What does the project cover? The biggest expense will be the cover art. I have an amazing idea for the cover image and a wonderful artist to work with. The funds will also cover the cost of ISBNs, printing costs, layout, and setup fees.”
