BEI Emeritus Fellow and Oneida poet Roberta Hill will introduce the Wisconsin Reads The Round House: An NEA Big Read project, and read her own poetry. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. Showcasing a diverse range of contemporary titles that reflect many different voices and perspectives, the NEA Big Read aims to inspire conversation and discovery.

The Round House by Louise Erdrich transports readers to the Ojibwe reservation in North Dakota. It is the story of a boy on the cusp of manhood who seeks justice and understanding in the wake of a terrible crime that upends and forever transforms his family. Copies are available for checkout from the Baraboo Public Library, 230 Fourth Avenue, Baraboo.
